How to claim - Motor Accident

Claim Procedure

  • Give notice to HOLLARD by contacting the Hotline on +258 20 607 062 as soon as reasonably possible but within 8 days - as per No 2 do Artigo 136 do Decreto Lei 1/2010 de 31 de Dezembro Que aprova o Regime Juridico dos Seguros
  • The accident can be reported telephonically to the Hotline or should be registered on a claim form supplied by HOLLARD, which will have to be duly completed and signed.
  • Attach copies of the vehicle’s documents and the driver’s license of the person who was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred.
  • In any circumstances verify: Name of the driver, address, contact numbers, vehicle registration number, witnesses, vehicle documents, make, colour, Insurer and certificate of insurance of the third-party vehicle and photos of the accident scene if possible. 
  • Immediately notify the police of any accident regardless as to who is at fault and obtain a police case number or copy of the police report.
  • Obtain at least two quotations from our Preferred Repairers as listed below for repair of the damage to the insured vehicle and present them to Hollard.
  • HOLLARD will assess the damages and authorize all repairs with the chosen Panel Beater

How To Claim – Motor Theft/Hijack

Claim Procedure

  • Give notice to HOLLARD by contacting the Hotline on +258 20 607 062 as soon as reasonably possible but within 8 days - as per No 2 do Artigo 136 do Decreto Lei 1/2010 de 31 de Dezembro Que aprova o Regime Juridico dos Seguros
  • The Insured must immediately notify the police of any case of theft or hi-jack of its vehicle and obtain the case number.
  • The Insured must provide all particulars of the loss and complete the Motor Theft Claim form supplied by HOLLARD or register the claim telephonically to at the Hotline
  • All vehicle keys (spare and originals) in possession of The Insured will have to be handed to HOLLARD.
  • The Insured must request a declaration from the criminal investigation police (SERNIC), which states that the vehicle has not been recovered yet and forward to HOLLARD.
  • Transfer the ownership in favour of HOLLARD and provide HOLLARD with the transfer papers.

How To Claim – Windscreen Damage/Theft of Factory Fitted Radio/Tape/CD

Claim Procedure

  • Give notice to HOLLARD by contacting the Hotline on +258 20 607 062 as soon as reasonably possible but within 8 days - as per No 2 do Artigo 136 do Decreto Lei 1/2010 de 31 de Dezembro Que aprova o Regime Juridico dos Seguros.
  • Obtain a replacement quote from our preferred Windscreen Suppliers.
  • Obtain details (catalogues, manual, etc) value, year of purchase, of a stolen item.
  • Notify the police of the theft and obtain a docket number or a copy of the police report which must be submitted to HOLLARD.
  • HOLLARD reserves the right to inspect the damage and authorize replacement.
