Hollard Mozambique’s Group Personal Accident Insurance provides your business with cover if an individual employed by you suffers an accidental injury, disability or death and pays the benefit to the business entity that takes out the policy, rather than the employee or their beneficiaries.
If the employee has dependents, you have the choice to pay a percentage of the benefit to the family and use the balance for costs incurred.
If the employee has no dependents, the benefit could be used for the costs of retraining or recruitment.
If the employee’s injuries result in a permanent disability, the benefit payment can be used to contribute towards the costs of any rehabilitation or assistive devices (e.g. a prosthetic limb)
If the employee is temporarily disabled and unable to carry out normal work duties, the employer can claim the earnings paid to them.
If the employee incurs medical costs, as a result of the accident, these will be reimbursed along with the costs of any emergency transport.
