Hollard Moçambique is proud to announce the official opening of the Colecção Crescente 2025 exhibition, an initiative by Kulungwana – Association for Cultural Development. This event also celebrates the Hollard Better Futures 2025 Artist Awards, a milestone that highlights Mozambique’s vibrant creativity and emerging artistic talent.

Presented under the evocative theme “Time”, this year’s exhibition invites both artists and the public to reflect on the dynamic relationship between the past, present, and future. Echoing the campaign’s motto, “Visions of Tomorrow”, the exhibition underscores Hollard’s belief in imagination as a powerful tool to envision and create a brighter, more inclusive future.

At the heart of this initiative is the Hollard Futuros Melhores 2025 Artist Award, an annual prize recognising the best works by the country’s most promising young creatives. The programme reaffirms Hollard’s continued commitment to supporting Mozambique’s cultural sector and fostering the next generation of innovative thinkers and visual storytellers.

To date, the Hollard Futuros melhores 2025 Artist Award, a prestigious platform created in 2019 that recognises exceptional artistic talent and provides opportunities for professional growth, has supported thousands of aspiring artists, and 12 young artists have received the top prize.

This year, over 100 emerging artists participated with submitted works in the exhibition. From this talented group, three were selected as winners: Zerito Pedrito Sabão Pita (Zerito Sabão), Medgiss Ananias Mutombene (Medgiss Mutombene) and Carmen Maria Muianga.

In addition, two artists, Pinto Zulu and Yassmin Santos Forte, received Honourable Mentions.

The winners were selected by a distinguished panel of three local and international judges, based on defined criteria. The jury comprised Professor Alda Costa, Dana McFarlane, from White River Gallery, and the Curator Mieke Oldenburg. Each juror nominated ten artists, followed by group deliberation to determine the final awardees.

During the opening ceremony, certificates of recognition were presented to the ten nominated artists by Jéssica Figueiredo, Brand Ambassador and coordinator of the Colecção Crescente initiative at Hollard Mozambique, the organisation supporting the event as Patron for the seventh consecutive year.

Although unable to attend, Mr Mittermayer, CEO of Hollard Mozambique, shared the following message with the nominees: “Your dedication, originality, and artistic insight are not only inspiring; they are essential to the cultural narrative of Mozambique. You are helping to redefine how we see ourselves, how we express our truths, and how we imagine the road ahead.”

Now in its 15th edition, Colecção Crescente 2025 is officially open to the public, showcasing bold and thought-provoking interpretations of “Time”, deeply rooted in Mozambican identity and expression.
